Gallatin Gateway is twelve miles southwest of Bozeman in the Gallatin River Valley. Ride horses, fly fish world-class trout waters, ski Big Sky Resort or take a sleigh ride adventure at the historic 320 Guest Ranch. Gallatin Gateway Inn, a palatial, fully restored 1920s inn remains among the best in the Rocky Mountain West. Camping is always an option in any part of Big Sky Country and in the Custer Gallatin National Forest visitors can pitch a tent at Spire Rock Campground and Spanish Creek Picnic Area. Cross-country ski into the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. Kirk Wildlife Refuge is also nearby, with fishing on the Gallatin River. Hike to lava Lake or trek the Garnet Mountain Loop.
Revisit history with a stop at the Little Bear School House Museum complete with old school desks with ink wells and writing slates.
